Best Oktoberfest yet
For the first time in three years, Beau’s Oktoberfest didn’t involve umbrellas, windbreakers or the need to wear gloves to protect against a cold stein of beer. The sun was out in all of its glory, making our job all the more fun.
We set up shop on Friday afternoon, grateful, once again, for the great weather and Beau’s hospitality. This year we not only had “Nice Pits” t-shirts for sale but six different posters, designed by Maker, depicting great women in history who, in our opinion, exemplify the qualities we Mavens strive for: passion, strength, tenacity, courage, endurance and leadership.
As usual, there was a delicious line up of local and Ottawa-based restaurants serving scrumptious food all weekend. We had our fill of warm pretzels and mustard and of course, Beau’s fine beer! One of the highlights had to be the Barley Mow pierogie poutine with Oktoberfest saussage.
